What we learned from the new Star Wars Battlefront Gameplay Launch Trailer

The gameplay launch trailer for the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront (ad) has hit the web!

A lot of what is covered in the trailer was already known about the game, but we did learn a few things.

First, we saw some new heroes/villains in use. These included Leia, Boba Fett, Han Solo, and Emperor Palpatine. A few showed off their skills, like Leia’s support skill, Boba Fett’s jetpack, and Han Solo’s charge.

Second, we learned that at least some heroes can be used on multiple maps. It isn’t yet clear whether all the heroes work on all maps, or whether there are set heroes for each map. In the trailer, we see Luke on Endor. We already knew he was playable on Hoth from the beta. We also saw Han Solo on Hoth. We previously knew he is playable on Endor.

Thirdly, in the trailer we saw a few more game options like Walker Assault on both Sullust and Tattoine. We also learned that the Endor map does have a Treetop Ewok village, although there still were no Ewoks on display.

Finally, we saw a lot of customization options for players in the trailer. It looks like the Rebels get to choose from several character models including various alien species, while the Stormtroopers have several gear setups including for snow, sand, or the Endor moon. We also got our first look at Han Solo’s DL-44 blaster in use.
