EA and DICE have released the Star Wars Battlefront (ad) Battle of Jakku Teaser Trailer, which you can watch above.
In the trailer, we take the viewpoint of a Rebel soldier at the Battle of Jakku, which takes place 29 years before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The soldier first is breathing heavily and appears to be struggling, with his head facing down towards the sand and allowing us a glimpse of some debris. A fellow Rebel runs by and shouts some orders, which prompts our player to look up and survey the battlefield.
We see a downed tie fighter, broken and smoldering. An AT-AT looms in the background as the Imperials make their assault on the Rebels. Our hero then peers towards the sky, where fighters fill the blue, and a Star Destroyer with heavy damage appears on a collision course for the planet surface.
We know that the Star Destroyer in question does impact the sand as we have seen it downed in the Battle of Jakku promotional images and it appears in one of The Force Awakens trailers, with Rey scavenging inside a huge hangar in the ruins. We still don’t 100% know that we will get to see that mammoth ship impact the ground during the Walker Assault game mode on the Battle of Jakku map, but it is looking likely.
