What is the difference between the Misfit Flash and the Misfit Shine?
The Flash is the newer Misfit fitness tracker, and it is very similar to the Shine. They basically gave the Flash brighter colors and made it plastic instead of anodised aircraft aluminium. This makes the Flash lighter and maybe more attractive, but also perhaps not as tough. The Shine also was a bit more water proof (50 m v 30 m) and the Shine had Windows Phone support, whereas the Flash doesn’t yet although they are working on it. The biggest difference of course is the price, and the lower price for the Flash while having almost the same abilities probably makes it a more attractive option for most people.

Does the Misfit Shine come with or have a warranty?

What Others Are Saying:
Scott Stein, CNET: “The Shine is one of the most stylish and futuristic-looking wireless fitness trackers out there, but you’re trading in extra versatility for minimalist style.”
Engadget: “The Misfit Shine might be a stylish fitness tracker, but there isn’t enough substance behind it to make it stand out in a crowded field.”
Eugene Kim, Jill Duffy, PC Mag: “The Misfit Shine is an activity tracker that’s big on style and great for those who swim for exercise. It doesn’t quite offer enough to shine above the advanced competition, however.”
The Misfit Shine (Amazon) is probably the most comfortable fitness tracker on the market, and I’m not alone in sharing that sentiment. The sleep monitoring functionality, combined with the comfort of the device on your wrist, make it ideal for sleep monitoring. It comes in a ton of colors and has a really nice looking minimalist design. I also really like the Misfit app and think that it is at least close to being as good as the FitBit or Jawbone apps. The Shine also is compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows. The device works with a lot of 3rd part apps including LoseIt!, Runkeeper, MapMyFitness, MyFitnessPal and IFTTT. Plus the device is very reasonably priced (although the Misfit Flash is even better).
Possible negatives would be that the Shine doesn’t have a heart monitor (which you can’t really expect at this price range) and there are no alerts or reminders. Despite liking this fitness tracker quite a bit, I think for people that are looking at getting the Misfit Shine, you might as well get the Misfit Flash instead. It’s newer, cheaper, and I like the design better, however, it also is made of cheaper parts.
