Acer Aspire V 13 Review V3-372T-5051

The Acer Aspire V 13 V3-372T-5051 13.3-inch Full HD Touch Notebook in Platinum White (ad) first caught my eye as I was looking through the Microsoft Store’s signature edition laptops that contain an SSD, Windows 10, and a 5th or 6th generation processor. Whereas most devices with those three things cost $1000 and up, the Acer Aspire V 13 is priced at under $600. That makes it worth a closer look.

Device  Acer Aspire V 13
Display 1920 x 1080
Weight 3.5 lbs.
Battery 8 Hours
Processor  Intel Core i5-6200U
Speed 2.3 GHz
Graphics Card  Intel HD Graphics 520
Storage 256 GB SSD

As noted in my introduction, this device has decent specs for the price. It has the 6th gen i5 Intel processor. The weight of 3.5 pounds isn’t too bad for this type of laptop, as many are around 5 pounds. The battery life of 8 hour is on the low side, but still probably is at least enough to get you through a work or school day without charging. I really like any laptop with a big solid state drive, which this one has. It also is preloaded with Windows 10.

Using the Acer Aspire V 13

When you first look at the Acer Aspire V 13 (ad), it just looks high quality. It has an all white or platinum finish, which seems to have a bit of a pattern to it. Around the screen is black, which makes it easier to look at. The keyboard is white, which looks really nice when new, but I would think those keys will fade or get dirty with time. The keyboard also feels a bit mushy. The case is solid, and the screen is on two large hinges.

The Acer Aspire V 13 runs virtually quiet, which is really what I look for in an SSD laptop. The laptop doesn’t seem to come preloaded with tons of bloatware that needs to be removed, all though there is some. Basically, this is the Windows 10 experience that you want. The laptop runs photoshop fine. This isn’t a gaming laptop, although you could upgrade the graphics card and be able to use it as such.

The laptop has a USB 3.1 Type-C port that delivers charging and download speeds twice that of USB 3.0. The V 13 is also equipped with USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and HDMI.

I think the Acer Aspire V 13 (ad) is really a great value considering the technology inside it. There doesn’t seem to be many laptops with the new 6th gen intel processors and an SSD in this price range.
